tiny dancer.

Dance is my first real relationship. We met early, but the years strengthened, polished and expanded us. We took a break and are at the precipice of a grand reunion. I received professional instruction at the Beacon Program, Mark Twain JHS, LaGuardia HS, Alvin Ailey and Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Co. I was a member and leader of my college step team Precizun, and worked with an African dance company in my late twenties. I have performed at all schools I attended, at churches, the NYC Labor Day Parade and on Broadway. I spent some time teaching in enrichment programs, one of the highlights of my life.

 Eutony:

A form of holistic therapy that utilizes movement to effect mind-body balance and wellness

I love choreography, but I am intrigued by somatics. Learning to detect, identify and align with our inner systems, cycles and baselines can help to attain, then maintain homeostasis. An opportunity to become a teaching artist has arisen and if selected, I intend to use those skills to help students understand their own bodies. That connection can prevent injuries, improve technique and extend dancers’ careers. Holistic wellness can make all the difference.
